Pathways evening is designed to help students and parents/carers make important decisions about their educational future. Your child will choose a personalised Pathway that will help them get to where they want to be when they leave the Gilberd School.

The UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge 2010 will take place on Thursday 4th February.Ninety students from Years 9, 10 and 11 will be taking the Challenge. We wish them every success.

We are delighted with the good effort and progress that students have made in ICT this year. To help your son/daughter to be safe and a better Internet user the ICT teaching team are inviting parents/carers to The Gilberd School’s Internet Safety Evening for Parents. The 9th of February is the national Internet safety day and as a result we as a school are supporting this theme by reinforcing the importance of e-safety for all. Year assemblies on e-safety will also be delivered during the course of this week. Lessons for key stage 3 will also focus on Internet safety.

Invitation letters to this event have been sent out to all parents and carers. Please be advised that places are limited to two ICT suites and therefore an early response will be beneficial in securing you a space for the evening. The event will be on Monday 8th February 2010, from 6:00pm.

We very much hope you will be able to attend to meet subject staff and tutors and discuss your child’s progress. We would be grateful if you could try and see as many staff as possible to enable you to get an accurate impression of your child's performance. The Parents Evening will start at 4pm and finish at 6:30pm.
